Today in class, we asked some students to read their journal entries about Howard Zinn's essay, American Ideology. We then had a conversation about what makes a great journal entry based on the entries that we heard. Our notes about that are posted in the resource links to the right.
We also discussed some of the grading guidelines and standards that are also posted to the right.
After a break, we shared some additional thoughts about Zinn's essay and then students were asked to actively read Lorraine Ali's essay, Do I Look Like Public Enemy No. 1? We then shared the strategies that we used to actively read an electronic article.
