A Conversation about our new president; Do the Right Thing

Today we'll have a discussion of the recent inaugural address. We'll do so by giving you the opportunity to engage in a "notecard" conversation. Each of you will receive sticky notes of four different colors, each with a specific contribution to our conversation:

• Blue: Opinion / Comment / Response
• Green: Text from speeches
• Pink: Connection (current event / cultural / academic)
• Yellow: Question

During the second part of class we'll start watching Do the Right Thing.

For homework, you need to finish reading "The Case for Reparations" by Ta-Nehisi Coates for Friday, and write a journal response.
