Today we started with a series of writing prompts about the "things we carry".
Next we read Ch. 1 of The Things They Carried together in class and completed some writing in our notebooks about it.
During the 2nd part of class we explored the reasons for the United States to enter the Vietnam War by looking at this letter to President Kennedy and his response and then looking at LBJ's message to Congress and the Tonkin Gulf Resolution.
The new assignment sheet is posted. It includes a glossary to terms found in the novel.
